We contribute to our local communities primarily through our capital program, which benefits local suppliers and vendors, creates jobs and generates tax revenue for regional municipalities. Community engagement initiatives focus on proactively supporting local businesses, providing employment and training opportunities, fostering strong relationships with Indigenous partners, and partnering with not-for-profits to close gaps and open up opportunity so everyone can thrive.

Volunteerism

Our employees are our greatest asset, and our team’s dedication to investing time, energy and financial resources in the communities where we live and work is a testament to our collective commitment to building community. Rubellite encourages and supports our team members in volunteer efforts, providing time and resources to make a difference. Whether it’s participating in local clean-up efforts, mentoring youth, supporting Canadian Blood Services, volunteering with local charities, activating community impact through the United Way or contributing to local food banks, our employees are passionate about making a difference. Through our ‘In Spirit With Community’ program, we aim to create meaningful connections and lasting impacts.

Indigenous Community Engagement

At Rubellite, we honor the historical spiritual values that are unique to each of the Indigenous communities where we operate. By fostering strong relationships and respecting the land and culture, we are dedicated to building mutually-beneficial respectful partnerships with Indigenous peoples. We proactively forge relationships with Indigenous communities proximal to our operations through open and transparent communication grounded in active listening, a spirit of collaboration and deep mutual respect.

Our initiatives include support for traditional land use, cultural preservation, economic opportunities and partnerships, in addition to training, educational programs and capacity-building.

Philanthropy

Rubellite is pleased to be able to support a variety of charitable organizations and initiatives through our ‘In Spirit with Community’ Program. We believe that by investing in our communities, we can help create opportunities for prosperity and a brighter future for all. Our contributions to community development particularly focus on youth, education, health and wellbeing and sports.

Classroom Champions

Education is the foundation for a better future, and Rubellite is pleased to be a supporter of Classroom Champions. This innovative program connects students with world-class athletes who provide mentorship on important life skills such as goal-setting, perseverance, and teamwork. By bringing these positive role models into the classroom, we aim to inspire and empower the next generation of leaders. Our partnership with Classroom Champions reflects our commitment to education and our belief in the potential of every student to achieve their full potential.

Canadian Blood Services

In partnership with Canadian Blood Services, Rubellite facilitates participation in blood donation drives as a simple yet powerful way to support our medical system by ensuring that hospitals have the necessary blood supplies to treat patients in need and save lives. Our employees regularly roll up their sleeves to donate blood and contribute to the health and well-being of Canadians.
